Well, hello again! It’s been a minute! Life happened. Lemons happened. The whole shebang. (Or maybe I was just giving you a little extra time to get your SEO in shape with the 5 SEO Tips from my last post 🙂)

Okay, okay, back to business. Literally. Because that’s who I’m here for: small businesses. And I mean the really small ones, where you’re DIY’ing your marketing on top of, well, everything else.

Don’t worry, I’ve got you!

Social media plays a huge role for almost every business, particularly the small businesses intuitive enough to tap into this free marketing resource. In fact, plenty of solopreneurs have ditched their websites altogether and promote their services solely on social media. Would I recommend having both? Absolutely. But hey, no judgment here.

With this heavy reliance on social media marketing, in my experience, one question pops up a lot: “So… how many social media accounts should my business have?”

Quick note before we dive in: this post isn’t about figuring out which platforms reach your target audience. That’s a whole other conversation (and an important one!). But today we’re tackling the classic dilemma: should you be on X, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok… and the list goes on and on.

Here’s the answer: have as many social accounts as you can do well. That’s it. That’s the rule.

And here’s the funny thing. The businesses asking this question are often the ones with outdated profiles, no new posts in months, and crickets for engagemen t… yet they’re thinking about adding more platforms. No!

Only start thinking about adding another platform once your current social presence is established. And by established, I mean running like a well-oiled machine: fresh content, regular posting, and real engagement with your audience.

When it comes to promoting your business across multiple platforms, it’s not just about showing up. It’s about showing up and doing it well!

I will be using this as an extension of my initial Marketing Agency offering – a platform for disseminating marketing tips, free and low cost marketing best practices that any individual or organization can use to help promote their businesses, their products, and their services.
